Festival Committee

Plans and organizes the annual Parish festival. It relies on many volunteer parishioners to make this fundraiser a success. Planning begins in January for the year’s festival.

GET READY! ST. JOHN ANNUAL FLEA MARKET IS COMING!

What was the #1 activity done during quarantine? Decluttering! Ever wonder what happens to all that stuff?  It comes to St. John’s annual flea market!  That’s right! Though we are all heartbroken that we aren’t having a festival this summer, we are going to have a very clean, very socially responsible flea market!  So here are all the awesome details:

  • Donations – we are still accepting donations.  You can call, text or email Christy (info below) for a drop off time. Tell your family, friends, & neighbors.  We accept most anything, as long as it’s in working order. Any clothes we receive will be passed on to The Clothesline.
  • Sale – here are the dates and times of the sale:
    • Wednesday, August 19 – 6-8 pm – presale – admission $5
    • Thursday, August 20 – 10 am – 4 pm – sale
    • Friday, August 21 – 10 am – 8 pm – sale
    • Saturday, August 22 – 10 am – 8 pm – ½ price sale all-day
    • Sunday, August 23 – 12 – 3 pm – Everything free w/donation to the church
  • Help please!!  We all know every year we need volunteers to help with the festival and flea market. This year is no exception. We can’t do all the good we do without help from our amazing parishioners! Please consider donating 2 hours of your time to work a shift, or 4, or 6! I promise you’ll have fun!

      • Tear Down:
        • Sunday, August 23 – 3 – 5 pm – clean up
      • Socially responsible just so everyone has all the information, the flea market will be equipped with social distancing markers. We will also have masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer available should anyone forget theirs.  All donated items will be sanitized with antibacterial mist each day before opening the sale. We hope to protect everyone working and shopping while having a very successful sale for our church!

I am so excited for our flea market! Staying positive and having a good attitude is the most important step to our success.  Please sign up to help, come to the sale, and help spread the word about our sale to everyone you know.  There are posts on Facebook for you to share and send to your friends.
